Both teams will be desperate to win this match after losing in Round 1. West Coast started their match as warm favorites against the Bulldogs in Round 1 but lost by 10 points while Carlton lost to Richmond by 27 points as expected.
The West Coast Eagles Mitch Brown was injured in that match and has been ruled out for the rest of the season while Carlton lost Dale Thomas for at least 6 weeks with a shoulder injury.
What The Bookies Think

The line is currently sitting at -12.5 points West Coast and +12.5 points Carlton.
West Coast to lead at the end of all four quarters $2.85
Carlton to lead at the end of all four quarters $5.00
The total match line is currently sitting at 166.5-170.5 points depending on bookmakers.
What We Think
Carlton has won the last 2 matches between these two sides and West Coast the previous 3. Last season West Coast was leading by more than 3 goals in the final quarter before Carlton kicked the last 5 goals to eventually win by 3 points at Etihad Stadium.
Carlton was disappointing last week against Richmond. They started off well in the first quarter but Richmond took control of the match half way through the second quarter and Carlton did not manage to score a single goal in the 3rd quarter. They have a decent defense but do not have the players in their forward half to kick a big score.
The West Coast v Bulldogs match last week was a high intensity match. The Bulldogs played good football and the match result was in the balance until late into the 4th quarter.
The biggest concern for the Eagles is their back line, which has been decimated by injuries and retirements from last season. West Coast must also be concerned that they struggled to get the ball in their forward 50 just 41 times last week. They also had more hand balls than kicks, a strange plan seeing that they have Josh Kennedy up forward.
Will Schofield will return to the Eagles this week and help out Shannon Hurn who was best on ground for the Eagles last week.
We believe that the Eagles home ground advantage will get them their first win of the season this Friday night.
We don’t believe that either of these teams will finish in the Top 8 this season but the Eagles play their best football in front of their adoring fans. Carlton have been on a downwards slide since the middle of last season, winning just 3 of their past 14 games.
Josh Kennedy is capable of kicking a big bag if the Eagles get the ball in his direction. Cripps and LeCras are also good crumbing forwards which should be enough power up front to get them a 4 goal win.
